Almotamar.net - Yemen partook in the 9th session of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states (PUOICM) which kicked off on Tuesday in Tehran.

Speaker of the Parliament Yahya al-Raei said that holding the 9th PUOICM session comes under different circumstances which require mobilizing the parliamentary activity in order to develop cooperation for stabilizing security and enhance economic integration as well as strengthening investment activity.

Yemen's speech in the session delivered by al-Raei and highlighted the Palestinian case, calling on the Palestinians to achieve national reconciliation and unify their positions to face their country's challenges and attaining the aspirations of the entire Palestinian people.

The Parliament Speaker noted to the right of all nations to obtain and use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes, congratulating Geneva accord between Iran and the group (5 +1).

He stressed that Israel has to give up its nuclear weapons and making the Middle East a free zone from all weapons of mass destruction.

Talking about terrorism, al-Raei said that violence, bombings, assassinations, bloodshed, acts of kidnappings, interruptions, and all kinds of terrorism are condemned by our Islamic religion, customs and traditions, and therefore we and the international community as well share the responsibility to cooperate in combating these phenomena.

"Yemenis have chosen the path of political settlement and peaceful transition of power to overcome their country's political crisis, and for that the National Dialogue Conference (NDC) has been held to build a federal state of several regions under the banner of Yemen's unity, "he added.
