By: almotamar.net - SANA'A- The National Opposition Council parties announced Monday the withdrawal of their presidential candidate Yassin Abdu Saeed in favor of Ali Abdullah Saleh, candidate of the General People's Congress (GPC), saying Saleh is the most competent and experienced presidential candidate.

The withdrawal statement, of which almotamar.net obtained a copy, affirms Ali Abdullah Saleh is the only presidential candidate who is capable of protecting the revolution, unification, and national achievements. The statement called on all the National Opposition Council members to vote in favor of Saleh.

As HE President Ali Abdullah Saleh, candidate of the GPC outdoes the other candidates with regard to experience and wisdom, and as he is the only candidate capable of protecting the Revolution and Unification, as well as maintaining the national accomplishments, leading the country with wisdom and experience, working to achieve more improvement and prosperity; and as it is he who achieved the Yemeni Unification on 22 May, 1990, defended the foundations of democratic experience, multi-party policy, freedom of expression and counter opinion, and established the peace process in the region, therefore,
