Interior Minister Maj. Gen. Abdo Hussein al-Tarib headed on Monday to the Moroccan capital, Rabat, to partake in meetings of the 31st session of the Arab Interior Ministers’ Council that will begin on Wednesday.

Al-Tarib explained that the session would discussed topics relating to the joint Arab security and ways of developing it, and would review a report on what had been implemented from the Arab strategy to combat the illicit use of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances as well as a number of Arab security strategies on the fight against terrorism, traffic safety and civil protection.

The minister pointed out that the session would also discuss recommendations of the conferences and meetings held at the General Secretariat of the Council during 2013 and the outcomes of the joint meetings with the Arab League in the same year, in addition to the discussion of a number of other security topics, including the establishment of an Arab bureau for intellectual security.
