Upon his departure, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Ahmed bin Daghr said that the meeting which held every four years aims to establish work programmes and guidelines for defining telecommunication development priorities and to provide direction and guidance for the work programme of the Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D) over the next four-year period.

Almotamar.net - Yemen participates in the sixth ITU World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-14) to be hosted in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on 30 March – 10 April 2014.

Upon his departure, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Ahmed bin Daghr said that the meeting which held every four years aims to establish work programmes and guidelines for defining telecommunication development priorities and to provide direction and guidance for the work programme of the Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D) over the next four-year period.

The WTDC-14 would discuss a number of issues relating to telecommunications topped by the high-speed Internet networks for sustainable development as well as ways of reaching a fruitful international cooperation in that field, he added.

Bin Daghr pointed out that he would deliver a speech at the conference on telecommunication and the quantum leap of the information technology.

He made clear that he would meet on the WTDC-14's sidelines with his Egyptian, Dutch and South Korean counterparts to discuss cooperation relations and ways to promote them in field of telecommunication and information technology.
