Almotamar.net - Head of the Shura council of al-Haq party Ismail al-Wazir has survived an assassination attempt, Interior Ministry said on Tuesday.

Al-Wazir, who is also a law professor at Sana'a University, was seriously wounded in the arm and thigh, two of his security escorts were killed and one other was injured.

Gunmen riding two cars opened fire at 12:40 p.m. on his car, an official in the Ministry said.

The assault will not go unpunished, the official said, stressing that the security services will spare no effort to track and arrest the perpetrators in order to bring them to justice.
