Almotamar.net - An air strike targeted al-Qaeda training camps killed a number of militants, some are of different nationalities, the Supreme Security Committee said on Sunday.

The targeted training camps were in a remote mountainous region between Abyan and Shabwa provinces, an official at the committee said, adding that the militants targeted were among the leading and dangerous elements of al-Qaeda.

The second operation of its kind within two days was carried out at Sunday's dawn based on "certain intelligence information that terrorist elements were training in those camps and planning to target vital civilian and military facilities", according to the official.

On Saturday, an air strike killed 10 al-Qaeda militants and wounded another one were on a truck in al-Bayda province

The committee had received intelligence suggesting that 11 terrorists traveling by a truck were heading to al-Bayda city and planning to target vital military and civil sites in the city, a source at the committee said.

Three nearby civilians were also killed and five others were wounded in the strike. "They were in a pickup car that was suddenly driving near the targeted car," he added.
