Almotamar Net - The Court of First Instance in Sanaa sentenced on Tuesday two defendants to 4 and 15 years in Jail in the assassination case of the former commander of the military southern command, Brigadier Salem Qatn.

The defendant Sami Fadl Daian was sentenced to 15 year in jail for being convicted of infringing on the states security ,military and civilian institutions and their personnel in cooperation with the al-Qaeda and individually.

Almotamar.net - The Court of First Instance in Sana'a sentenced on Tuesday two defendants to 4 and 15 years in Jail in the assassination case of the former commander of the military southern command, Brigadier Salem Qatn.

The defendant Sami Fadl Daian was sentenced to 15 year in jail for being convicted of infringing on the state's security ,military and civilian institutions and their personnel in cooperation with the al-Qaeda and individually.

The defendant Farhan Ahmed Awad al-Saadi was sentenced to four years in jail commencing from the date of his arrest for his involvement in the crimes committed by Daian ,as his companion.

The al-Qaeda terrorist organization claimed responsibility for the assassination of Salem Qatn on June 18, 2012, in Aden province, by a Somali suicide bomber wore an explosive belt , who threw himself on Qatn's car.

The terrorist organization stated that the operation was an act of revenge for the military campaign launched against Al-Qaeda in Abyan province.
