Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh disclosed Tuesday that security authorities discovered a prominent terrorist who intended to carry out acts of terror against American installations and the Movembic Hotel.


In a pres conference the president has held in Sana�a today he said it has been revealed through the picture that the terrorist person was standing behind the [presidential candidate of the JOINT Meeting Parties (JMP) while in one of his election festivals.
President Saleh made it clear that the person was arrested and he was in possession of a quantity of explosives and dynamites, saying his standing behind the JMP candidate, main opposition bloc, � arouses questions an how to be awake and keen to follow the strings of such a case. �the president threatened to take strict measures against kidnappers of the four French tourists in the governorate of Shabwa. He affirmed that the kidnapping incident came at background of dispute between two villages, indicating that the kidnapers are putting pressure on the government but �we will not compromise with them.�

President Saleh has added, � They (the kidnappers) demanded YR 5 thousand and a car t release them but the government gives them not even one single riyal,) promising to set the kidnapped French in the next two days. He said he Yemeni people are nowadays living their best days in the festivities of democracy and every candidate, whether from the General People�s Congress (GPC) or the JMP�s or the independents is marketing his merchandise but the harvest is tomorrow Wednesday.
In his press conference, held at the presidential house and attended by local media correspondents and correspondents of Arab and foreign media, the president said,� Tomorrow is the day of harvest, let competitors compete and let our people at the end harvest the fruits, our people are the first beneficiary, they are the winners and the victorious in all cases,� he added �Tomorrow our people will go to cast their voices t elect the president of the republic and their representatives in the local councils in secure and safe atmospheres and there is no concern about this practice, our people are civilized and they benefited from previous experiments as their democratic dues have been held: the parliament, the local councils and the president.�
�We benefit and learn every day and avoid any flaw or negatives and no doubt any experiment is accompanied at the beginning some negatives. Maybe you have heard about the election fever and he great momentum which reflect the seriousness of competition and the elections are not sham, � indicating that there are many world media instruments and many observers in the world consider elections held in the countries of the third world and in the Middle East in particular as a drama but � I am sure the Arab and foreign journalists who have come to Yemen have seen, visited and heard and conducted interviews, have got certain that the elections in Yemen are serious and sincere, the competition in them is true, the elections are not a drama at all,� the president said.

President Saleh added �Our experiment in Yemen is a pioneering one and I think many other countries can benefit from it if they wanted that. We so not market this experiment in the region but we establish for a better future for Yemen, for peaceful transfer of power which is the characteristic of the age.� He said � We have to build ourselves before it is imposed on us from abroad, and as I have pointed out in a previous talk that � one has to cut his hair by himself before others will cut it for him�. Therefore, we have been forerunners to adopt the democratic pursuit and cut our hair by ourselves without accepting he marketing of the foreign democracy,� adding,� Since an early time we have laid and established this rule and now we are reaping its fruits and are satisfied very much for that. You can see our people are practicing their democratic rights according to this rule.�
