Almotamar Net -  Somalia on Wednesday freed 63 Yemeni fishermen detained for two days in the Puntland State of Somalia, Yemens Chargé daffaires in Mogadishu said.

Puntland authorities justified the detention of the Yemeni fishermen by entering the territorial waters of Somalia, Fuad al-Zurqa said.

He added that the Yemeni embassy has contacted with the concerned authorities in the Puntland State to release them and their boats in accordance with the agreement signed

Almotamar.net - Somalia on Wednesday freed 63 Yemeni fishermen detained for two days in the Puntland State of Somalia, Yemen's Chargé d'affaires in Mogadishu said.

Puntland authorities justified the detention of the Yemeni fishermen by entering the territorial waters of Somalia, Fuad al-Zurqa said.

He added that the Yemeni embassy has contacted with the concerned authorities in the Puntland State to release them and their boats in accordance with the agreement signed between the Yemeni and Somali Fisheries Ministry that allows both countries' fishermen to go fishing in the territorial waters of the two countries.

On May 29, the Somali authorities released 51 Yemeni fishermen, who were held in custody in Bosaso city of Puntland State for over a month.
