Almotamar Net -  United Nations envoy to Yemen Jamal Benomar welcomed on Wednesday a ceasefire deal reached between Yemeni authorities and Ansarallah "Houthis" in the northern province of Amran.

The deal took effect at midday Wednesday (12:00 p.m.). It stipulated an end to all military reinforcements from both sides, deployment of impartial military monitors and the opening of the main road to the capital Sanaa.

Almotamar.net - United Nations envoy to Yemen Jamal Benomar welcomed on Wednesday a ceasefire deal reached between Yemeni authorities and Ansarallah "Houthis" in the northern province of Amran.

The deal took effect at midday Wednesday (12:00 p.m.). It stipulated an end to all military reinforcements from both sides, deployment of impartial military monitors and the opening of the main road to the capital Sana'a.

Benomar underlined the importance of both sides to abide by the deal's terms in order to restore security and stability to the province.

News release issued by the office of the UN envoy said that the office held intensive consultations with political and security leaders and representatives of Ansarallah to end the tension in the province
