Almotamar.net - The Group of Ten Ambassadors have welcomed the ceasefire deal in Amran province and its surrounding areas.

In a common statement, they confirmed their full support to the efforts of President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi to end the armed clashes in Amran province.

As sponsors of the Gulf initiative, the G10 Ambassadors, representing the five permanent members of the Security Council, the Gulf Cooperation Council, and the European Union, urged the concerned parties to expand their efforts to develop an inclusive peace plan via direct negotiations under the outcomes of the National dialogue Conference (NDC).

In order to defuse the factors of the security and political tension threatening the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism, the G10 Ambassadors called on all irregular parties to abide by the disarmament simultaneously and remain neutral towards the state institutions, particularly towards the army and security institutions.

They renewed their countries’ support to the Yemeni government and its security forces in the ongoing operations against al-Qaeda and other vandalism groups, especially those who target the energy infrastructure.

In their statement, the ambassadors expressed their concern over the difficult economic issues facing Yemen, valuing the government's efforts to implement the awaited reforms.

They called on the political parties to reach consensus rapidly to avoid any actions that might be seen as utilization of the economic challenges to obtain short-term political benefits.
