Almotamar Net - Charge daffaires of the Yemeni embassy in Washington Adel al-Sunaini has said that 9 Yemeni expatriates in the USA were killed in 2014 in different criminal incidents.

Al-Sunaini said that most of those crimes took place in workplaces where the killed Yemenis were working, mainly small shops and gas stations.

He pointed out that the embassy of Yemen pays special attention to the problems of the Yemeni community, noting that there are continuous efforts to limit this dangerous phenomenon through raising awareness of the professions prone to such crimes.

Al-Sunaini affirmed that armed robbery incidents and killing which Yemeni expatriates were victims of in different American states are purely criminal and are not prompted by racism.

He urged the Yemeni expatriates in America to commit to safety procedures announced by the US authorities, calling on Yemeni societies and activists to organize awareness seminars for the Yemeni expatriates on these dangers.
