Kerry, who is visiting Japan to participate in the ministers’ meeting of the Group of Seven, urged in a summarized statement on his account on Twitter" to seize the opportunity to deliver humanitarian aid and progress in the peaceful resolution.

Almotamar.net - The U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry welcomed on Tuesday the start of the cease-fire announced by the United Nations in Yemen and the confirmation of the concerned parties’ commitment.

Kerry, who is visiting Japan to participate in the ministers’ meeting of the Group of Seven, urged in a summarized statement on his account on Twitter" to seize the opportunity to deliver humanitarian aid and progress in the peaceful resolution.

He said "I welcome the start of a cease-fire in Yemen and urge all parties to seize the opportunity to allow humanitarian aid to enter and to continue forward in a peaceful solution."

A UN-brokered ceasefire agreement began in Yemen on Sunday midnight and is scheduled to last till the end of peace talks in Kuwait set to begin on April 18.
