Russia welcomed on Tuesday the cease-fire reached in Yemen in order to end the crisis and preserve the unity of Yemen.

" Moscow welcomes the readiness of the parties to the crisis in Yemen to put an end to the bloody conflict that the country is living, which left more than 6 thousand people dead, according to UN statistics," said a statement issued by the media department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The ministry stressed in a statement the importance of the success of the ceasefire and the exploitation of the talks due in Kuwait to resume the political dialogue, which should end the crisis and preserve the countrys unity.

A UN-brokered ceasefire agreement began in Yemen on Sunday midnight and is scheduled to last till the end of peace talks in Kuwait set to begin on April 18.
