almotamar.net - In celebration of the 44th Day of the Yemeni 26 September Revolution and the 43rd Day of the 14 October Revolution, a torch was lit Monday evening at Al-Tahrir Square in downtown of the capital Sana’a. Lighting the torch represents the beginning of the 45th year of the Yemeni Revolution.

The ministers of defense and youth lit the torch in the middle of Al-Tahrir Square at the same spot where the first signal of the revolution of 26 September was launched in September 1962. The torch-lighting festival was attended by 500 scouts of Yemeni youth poured into the capital from various governorates of Yemen.

Celebrations of the Yemenis of their revolutions of September and October are coinciding with success of the democratic practice of the presidential and local councils elections that took place last Wednesday and resulted in the victory of the General People’s Congress’s candidate Ali Abdullah Saleh to a second seven-year presidency term.
