At his interview with the Japanese TV NHK, Saleh said that his declaration not to stand as a candidate for next presidential elections was intended to encourage and give the chance for anyone willing to run for President.
Yemen is a democratic state and authority should not be limited to an individual, Saleh stated pointing out that Yemen was leading in democracy and willingly political reforms.
Any state in the world should reform itself before be forced to do so from other states, he added.
