almotamar.net - The constitutional committee at the parliament began on Sunday the study of a proposal on lifting immunity from MP Yahya al-Houthi for his involvement in the terrorist acts in Saada.
A parliamentary source told almotamar.net Sunday that the committee held a meeting this evening to discuss the proposal; presented by the minister of justice on lifting the immunity from MP Yahya al-Houthi accused of managing terrorist acts going on in Saada. The committee also considered the papers submitted by the general prosecution that contains evidence on al-Houthi involvement in terror acts led by his brother the terrorist Abdulmalik al-Houthi in the mountains of Saada.
The source added that the committee studied most of the papers that contained leaflets and statements fomenting on continuation of the acts of killing and sabotage in addition to tapes the ministry of justice say they prove MP al-Houti's involvement in the sedition that was ignited by Hussein Badrudin al-Houthi who was killed in 2004.
The source also said the committee will continue its discussions on Monday in order to prepare a report suggesting the lifting of immunity and to be referred to the parliament.
Yemen had earlier handed over to the Interpol an official memorandum on Yahya al-Houthi asking it to arrest and delivers him to the Yemeni authorities. The wanted MP is now living in Germany.
