almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh called Friday on scholars from the governorate of Saada to enlighten the persons deceived by those who started the sedition, renewing his affirmation that there is no other way before those elements but to surrender themselves and their weapons to the concerned authorities of the state if they wanted save their lives and spare blood.
The president addressed the scholars "sedition is sleeping and God curses those who awakened it and the scholars shoulder the responsibility of facing the sedition and extinguish it and that is a religious and national duty as well as ethical. The sedition burns all with its fire and no one having a live conscience would be satisfied over shedding even one drop of blood."
The president asked the scholars to clarify facts forth people and to shoulder their national responsibilities for the prevalence of security, stability and safety in the society and to mobilize efforts and energies in areas of development and construction for the good and interest of the homeland and the citizen.
The president also talked on and congratulated all the people on the 27 April the Day of democracy pointing to the pride of our people of the shoura (consultancy) and democracy pursuit. President Saleh said the 26 September revolution took place for ending the eras of the Imamate tyranny and despotism and so that the people undertake their affairs of their life and to rule themselves on their own away from guardianship or claiming the heavenly right. For that cause and the victory of the revolution and freedom the people many great sacrifices. The president said under the approach of freedom and democracy the Yemeni people achieved their aspirations of construction renascence and advancement, adding that it is regretful after 45 years of revolution there are some who are still dreaming of and seeking for turning back the wheel of history through the call for the return of the Imamate sacerdotal regime within a racial astray and ossified vision trying to impinge on the people right to elect their governance by their free will via balloting boxes.
President Saleh indicated the sabotage acts the terrorist elements are committing in some areas of Saada governorate for the realization of that desperate goal and for that they perpetrate crimes and practice killing against members of the armed forces and security, block the safe roads and destroy public ands private property.
The president said democracy and political pluralism in Yemen opened the opportunity for every citizen to express his and or herself without fear. There are many partisan, media platform and civil society organisations that any person can join in the process of expressing their ideas and opinions in the framework of commitment to the constitution and valid laws in the country and the national constants. The president added that there is no room for any partisan or sectarian or zonal fanaticism to impinge on our national unity and the social peace, this is taboo and the constitution and the law prohibit that.
A number of scholars have also talked in the meeting where they affirmed their standing by the state for the aim of extinguishing the fire of sedition and put an end to its masterminds.
