almotamar.net - Head of the General People's Congress (GPC) delegation Dr Ahmed Ubaid Bin Daghr said Thursday the bilateral relations between the GPC and the Sudanese National Congress were witnessing good distinguished developments deriving from their historical roots between Yemen and Sudan.
Bin Daghr delivered the speech of the GPC at the opening of the Sudanese National Congress' second session of the general conference to day under chairmanship of President Omar Hassan al-Basheer. Bin Daghr conveyed in his address to the Sudanese president, leaderships of the National Congress party and the Sudanese people greetings of president Ali Abdullah Saleh and the GPC General Secretariat to the meeting of the Sudanese party.
He praised the development of the Sudan under leadership of the National Congress and touched on the historical roots of the Yemeni Sudanese relations and their impact on the bilateral relations of the two sisterly countries.
Bin Daghr hailed the great national interaction that Sudan is witnessing towards peace and closing files of war as well as heading for comprehensive development. In his address the head of the GPC delegation renewed the Yemeni stand that supports the Sudanese unity in land and people wishing the Sudanese people more progress and prosperity.
Following the opening ceremony the GPC delegation met president al-Basheer and conveyed to him greetings of president Saleh and his blessing of the conference. The Yemeni GPC delegation also held talks with members of the Syrian delegation where the two sides exchanged bilateral relations between the GPC and the Syrian Baath Party and means of developing them.
