Almotamar.net - An official source at the Yemeni foreign ministry on Friday expressed the Republic of Yemen's appreciation of the call by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Mon for facilitating delivery of humanitarian assistance to the areas affected by the sedition of the terrorist elements in Saada province.
The source affirmed that the Yemeni government has given priority to the issue of the displaced persons , as a result of the sedition broke out by the terrorist elements , in dealing with the situation in Saada, and announced after four days of the beginning of war, cessation of the military hostilities in response to calls of bodies and organisations concerned with humanitarian relief and demands of the citizens of Saada for the delivery of relief aid to the migrants for the delivery of food supplies and securing safe conduits for that to the migrants.
The elements of terror and destruction did not respond to that and launched attacks on the armed forces and security in Al-Malahidh area and Harf Sufyan just hours after the declaration of ceasefire. They have also continued hindering traffic movement by plating landmines and explosives on roadsides and made citizens as human shields.
On the other hand the source pointed out that the Yemeni government, since the early days of military operations, set up a high national committee for the relief of migrants in coordination with the UN organisations and relief organisations operating in Yemen and facilitated for them all ways for delivering assistance and erecting camps.
The source said the government would continue in its cooperation with all humanitarian organisations for providing safe ways. It has also taken the initiative of escorting assistance convoys offered by the people of Yemen.
