Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh opened and laid foundation stones for 269 projects in the city of Sayoun on Saturday at a cost of more than YR 58 billion.
The President unveiled a mural representing projects that include 77 projects in the fields of education , 20 health and population projects, 82 public works and roads projects, 23 communications projects and 51 projects in the field of infrastructure of Tarim , Capital of Islamic Culture.
It also includes four projects of reconstruction in both provinces of Hadramout and Al-Mahara, a project for civil aviation authority for development of Sayoun airport. A project for local administration , twp sports and youth projects , social affairs and labour project , agricultural research project , three projects for waters and sewage , two industrial projects and one tourist project.
President Saleh opened the first phase of the 30 megawatt gas power station built in oil block 10 in Kharir area, the district of Sah of Hadramout valley and the desert.
During his visit to oil block 10 the President also directed concerned authorities on speeding up benefiting from the natural gas accompanying oil production for building a 50 megawatt power station so that to raise power generation capacity to 150 megawatt and to connect it to electricity network to cover the needs of Hadramout province .
At ten site of the project, the President was received by the minister of oil, officials of Total Company. Representative of the implementing company of the power station and a number of officials.
The President also got acquainted with installation and works of under construction in block 10 under concession of Total oil company , urging the officials of the company and the oil ministry for more explorations and surveys and raising oil production capacity in block 10 and other areas of concessions granted to the company.
