Almotamar.net, Saba - The Cabinet approved on Tuesday a report on the result of the seventh meeting of the Supreme Council for Women that was held on March 6.

In its weekly meeting chaired by Prime Minister Ali Mohammed Mujawar, the Cabinet stressed that the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation to include areas of the national strategy for women in the fourth five-year plan for development.

The cabinet emphasized the integration of the gender component in the investment program and to allocate the necessary resources to implement programs and strategic projects for women.

Moreover, the cabinet stressed on Deputy Premiers and governors with regard to the involvement of managers of women departments in the ministries and the National Commission for Women within the committees to prepare plans and budgets, as well as the integration of training manual on gender budgets in the training program of the Financial Institute.

The Cabinet instructed the concerned ministers to raise the allocation of jobs of women in proportion to the women graduates from higher education institutions, in addition to other procedures enhancing the presence of women in leadership positions.




The Cabinet approved a draft decree on the amendment of the regulation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and directed to complete the necessary legal procedures for issuing the decree.

The amendment comes to cope with the changes witnessed by the higher education and to adopt the new policies approved by the government in this field.

The regulations aim to enhance the efficiency of the ministry of higher education and define the relationship between the ministry and the different institutions of higher education and scientific research, and strengthen the independency of Yemeni universities so as to enable them to perform their functions properly.

The regulation also seeks through a number of actions to develop a mechanism to study and observe the changes in the labor market and then set policies and plans in the higher education field to link between the market requirements and the educational programs.

In addition to the development of the scientific research policies in all fields, especially in the areas of basic and applicable sciences and to pinpoint the priorities of the scientific research at the national level and encourage the partnerships with the private sector and to provide multiple resource of funding on competitive basis.


The cabinet has also instructed Deputies of the Premier and concerned ministers to follow up implementation of activities and measures for carrying out recommendations of Human Rights Council in Yemen issued in its 12th session and to provide the Ministry of Human Rights with statements and information in this regard.

The cabinet has also approved the launching of Hadramout Satellite TV Chanel and asked the Ministers of Information and Finance to finalize the steps for launching the Channel. The decision of establishing the Satellite Channel comes in implementation of directives of President Ali Abdullah Saleh in confirmation of the sons of Hadreamout to serve the cultural and information reality and participation in enhancement of the media message.
