Almotamar.net - President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi received on Thursday the UK Minister of State for International Development, Alan Duncan.
Hadi at the meeting praised all efforts made by British official since the eruption of the 2011 crisis, which he said, reflects the concern of UK towards security and stability of Yemen.
The President highly valued the UK role in supporting Yemen to make the transitional phase based on the GCC brokered deal a success.
"Yemen had experienced severe economic, political, and security crises, however, we could overcome several challenges and difficulties in the country,'' Hadi said.
He added that all political powers, including the parliament and the government, are keenness to work together in order to move the country forward.
Regarding Yemen's war on terror, the President said that Yemen achieved a great victory against al-Qaeda strongholds in southern provinces in particular in Abyan and Shabwa provinces.
"Yemen's security and military forces launched a military campaign against al-Qaeda militants in Abyan province, achieving a great victory against those elements,'' Hadi stated.
Talking about the current situation in Amran province, he urged all sides to stop clashes there and abide by the ceasefire agreement between them, calling on Houthis to comply with the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference, NDC, and not to pass red lines.
He stressed the importance of assisting Yemen financially during the current critical circumstances in order to overcome all challenges that facing the transitional phase completely.
Duncan praised the efforts being made by the President in order to make the NDC outcomes a reality on the ground, confirming the UK continued support to Yemen along with international community until achieving the remaining tasks of the transitional process.
