Almotamar Net - Interior Minister, Rashad Mohamed Al-Alimi met this morning in Sana`a the Italian counterpart Mr Pisanu. The parties, according to a note, "discussed the fight against terrorism, organized crime, drugs trafficking and illegal immigration" as under prior agreements between the two.. As for illegal immigration Al-Alimi spoke of his "appreciation for Italy's contribution to patrolling the Yemeni coastline thanks to the provision of patrol boat and thanks to cooperation on training".
Mr Pisanu later met with Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh. The parties agreed to strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation "in all sectors". Pisanu is the first Interior Minister to have traveled to Yemen.
