Almotamar Net - Yemen would participate in meetings of the 2nd Gulf Security Meeting due to be held in the Bahraini capital Manama on December 2-4.

Representatives from the Arab Gulf states, Yemen, European Union, the United States and several international organizations would take part in the gathering


The meeting would focus on issues related to regional security, terrorism and relations among Gulf countries with the United States,
Iraq and Iran.

In remarks to reporters, Interior Minister Rashad al-Alimi voiced hope the meeting would come out with good results that would bolster ties among participating countries and serve security, stability and peace in the region and worldwide.

He said Yemen, with its strategic geographic location, constitutes a frontline for the Gulf region's security in terms of combating terrorism, piracyand drug trafficking.

"The security of Yemen is part of security of the Gulf," al-Alimi said."Danger could come from any side, thus a regional security strategy based on the concept of real partnership is needed."

Alimi said Yemen would present to the meeting a work paper discussing the issue of security in Yemen and the Gulf region.
