The Yemeni news agency mentioned that the meeting reviewed results of the UNESCO official to a number of historical sites in Yemen. The visiting official expressed admiration in the development of old city of Sana'a, praising the amount of attention the city has been receiving in the past period calling the attention to the size of Yemen's cultural heritage and pointed out the government efforts for preserving it and the importance of activating those efforts guaranteeing care and preservation of this heritage.

Mr Ruwaishan has on his part affirmed Yemen's desire to develop cultural cooperation with the UNESCO I all areas especially concerning the historical towns. He added that Yemen is almost the only Arab country to establish a special authority for the preservation of historical cities out of its belief in the importance of protecting those landmarks.
