almotamar.net - The Yemeni government issued Tuesday a decision closing down all shops selling fire arms, ammunition and explosives all over the republic.

The decagon stipulated that those stores represent contribution to spread of weapons and their illegal circulation that led to disturbing social security and peace and safety of the society in addition to the negative impact on development and investment.

The cabinet also stressed on Tuesday the strict application of the decision and asked the deputy premier, minister of interior to set up specialized field committees for shutting down those shops, conducting inventory of their contents and documenting that in an official statement. Those intending to trade in personal weapons and repairing them as well as explosives used for development purposes have to apply to the ministry of interior and enclose all legal documents defined in the law on regulating carrying fire arms and trading in them within a month of the date of the decision.

The cabinet also formed a ministerial committee chaired by the interior minister and membership of ministers of defence, finance and local administration to follow up implementation of the decision.
