Almotamar.net - Secretary-General f the General People's Congress (GPC) Abdulqader Bajammal said Wednesday the objective of dialogue with the political parties represented in parliament is to each a national accord built on firm national bases aimed at consolidation of democracy.

He has pointed out the issues of dialogue related to amendments of the laws of elections, the local authority, political parties and organisations, press and publications, constitutional amendments and the bicameral parliamentary system.

Opening today meetings of the ordinary session of GPC's local general committee of the party's branch of the capital Bajammal said "Accord and partnership the GPC aims at is not because it is unable to as some have mistakenly understood that," confirming that the GPC has the enough number at the parliament to endorse the required amendments of those laws but it tended to dialogue with political forces and various intellectual levels of the society segments to engage them in this great development.

Bajammal said the GPC will not accept to tailor democracy according measurements as the some wants and added it is clear that some of the parties leaderships are not supporting development of the legislative power by elections due to some fear they have a happened in the presidential elections in Yemen last September.

The meeting was attended by the GPC assistant secretary general for political affairs and foreign relations Abdulrahman al-Akwaa, head of the party's branch in the capital Jamal al-Khawlani, Tariq al-Shami, head of the information office, Amat Al-Razzaq Hamad, assistant secretary general for women sector, Abdulaziz Abdulghani, member of the of the general committee, Yahya al-Shuaibi, member of the general committee, Ahmed al-Zuhairi member of the general committee and head of the organisation office, Hussein Hazib, member of the general committee and head of the educational committee , Mohammed Duaid, member of the general committee and head of the finance office, Ubaid bin Dhabee, director of the secretary general office and members of the consultative and parliamentary body of the party.
