Almotamar.net - The GPC capital secretariat branch permanent committee condemned terrorist acts and practices carried out by the saboteur elements in some districts of Saada governorate and practices aimed against security and stability of the homeland. It also condemned their impinging on Yemen's great grains and the achievements of its political leadership under the unity and the constitution in addition to their skepticism in its national choices, political pluralism and human rights.

The committee stressed its standing by the armed forces and security men and the local authority in the governorate of Saada in dealing with those saboteur elements that try to destroy the gains of the country and its security and stability.

At the conclusion of its second ordinary session held on 25-29 April 2007 lauded the positive steps of crystallizing contents of the president's election platform and the GPC electoral programme at the level of local councils.

The permanent committee expressed its support for the efforts the new government exerts for the realization of economic recovery and attraction of more investments aimed at improving the living standard and tackling price fluctuations.

It has also expressed its denunciation of the attempt of misleading some political arties and organisations carry out with the aim of impinging upon the GPC's national efforts and also the attempt to belittle the significance of the achieved national gains. The committee considers that attitude as an act void of the sense of responsibility an does not reflect the real dealing with the issues of the homeland and its changes , considering that as more submerging in the quagmire of political bidding and wrangles.

The permanent closing statement urged to give the governorate of Saada more attention in the development plans especially in aspects of education, health and social care as well as attention to sons and families of the martyrs with providing means of dignified life for them.

While the committee praised the decision of the GPC leadership of listing the draft law of the local authority on agenda of the permanent committees in the capital and governorates, it recommended the formation of a committee composed of specialists and local councils members to study the draft amendments on the law of the local authority in Yemen and to enrich it with remarks to enhance decentralization and give more powers for the development of the local authority.
