In a statement to almotamar.net Dr Bilqis that the SNACA expects that the ministers prepare statements of the names of senior officials in the state included in the law in preparation of applying the law to them.

This legal measure comes in less than one month since President Ali Abdullah Saleh's directives to the government to submit statements of their property of the prime minister and the ministers pursuant to the law. This is a step described as aiming to improve administrative performance and fighting corruption as well as completion of the set of financial and administrative reforms.

The parliament approved in July last year the law on declaration of property after it had completed its discussion of the law. The law includes civilian and military officials, members of parliament and Shoura, governors of provinces and ambassadors and includes certain measures regarding definition of their property and proving that at the beginning of each year.
The law aims to enhance trust in the state apparatuses and their members through adoption of measures guaranteeing protection of public property.

The law named the groups that are covered by in it by the president of the republic and his two deputies, heads and members of the presidency, members of parliament and shoura council, the prime minister, the ministers and their deputies, chairman of the supreme commission for elections and his two deputies, heads of sectors, director of the presidency office and his deputies, presidents of universities and their deputies, secretaries general and their deputies, the local councils. The law also covers officials of the administrative apparatus, members of the diplomatic and consulate career, members of the legislative power and general prosecution, the military, security and administrative leaders, directors of financial, accountancy, procurements and warehouses in the armed forces and security and members of local councils.
