Almotamar Net - Interior Undersecretary and supervisor of carrying out the campaign against weapons General Mohammed Abdullah al-Qawsi said Friday criminal incidents in provincial capitals of Yemen dropped by 43% during the last month beginning from the date of announcing the campaign. He said the campaign yielded positive results embodied in disappearance of weapon carrying phenomenon by 80%.

The Interior Undersecretary told almotamar.net that the campaign resulted in the seizure of 20064 different type pieces of weapons in the areas of the security zone and capitals of provinces during the period from 23 August to last Thursday.

He added that 17930 pieces were prevented from entering provincial capitals and 2134 pieces were seized inside provincial capitals.
