almotamar.net - A massive rally was held in Aden Saturday evening at the city of Sheikh Uthman attended by local councils in the districts and the governorate and civil society organisations to bless and support the initiative of constitutional amendments announced by President Ali Abdullah Saleh last Monday.

The large audience that attended the rally expresses the people's rally behind and support for the initiative aimed at developing the political system in Yemen and moving to the regime of local rule.

The festival attended by the governor of Aden Ahmed Mohamed al-Kuhlani and members of parliament reflected keenness of the civil society organisations and the people's, party and women sectors on expressing their ideas on the initiative. Speeches delivered in the rally reflected support of those sectors for the initiative which came as an additional enhancement to democracy and expansion of the people's participation in running affairs of the country.

Following the rally a massive demonstration took to the main streets of Sheikh Uthman city on that occasion.
