almotamar.net - The General People's Congress (GPC) on Thursday congratulated the people of Yemen, President Ali Abdullah Saleh and the political leadership on the 40th Day of Independence on 30 November.

The GPC Secretary General Abdulqader Bajammal also congratulated the leaderships and cadres of the GPC in all governorates of Yemen and abroad on the occasion.

Bajammal indicated that the celebration of the 40th Day of Independence comes at a time when many accomplishments have been achieved for the homeland. He pointed out the unprecedented activity the political arena is witnessing especially under the people's great interaction with the constitutional amendments draft announced by the president of the republic and its proposals aimed at consolidation and development of the political system and the state of law and order.

The Secretary General has on this occasion also dispatched cables of congratulations to various organisational leaderships, political parties leaderships, and civil society organisations, chairmen of the parliament, shoura and Judiciary Higher councils, and the ministers.
