almotamar.net - Yemen on Friday demanded to be given a yearly share of labour employed at Gulf markets according to an agreement sponsored by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States.

In its working paper presented to the roadmap symposium on Yemen incorporation with the GCC held lately in Aden, the Yemeni ministry of technical education and vocational training urged the establishment of coordination bureau between the parties supervising training and qualification of technical and professional cadres in the GCC states and Yemen and that should be timed with stages of Yemen incorporation with the GCC.

The ministry added that one of the most current requirements for qualification of Yemeni technical labour to compete at the Gulf markets is support for implementation of the programmes of the national strategy of technical education and vocational training for the years 2005-2014.
The ministry's paper also explained that the executive programme of the strategy aims at raising capacity of technical education and vocational training to receive 15% of public education outputs in all governorates of Yemen and the building of 137 vocational institutes, 82 technical institutes and 15 society colleges during the period of carrying out the strategy.

The ministry's working paper pointed out coordination for preparing a comprehensive study of the Gulf labour market and the Yemeni market in order to define the needs and requirements of skills and professional efficiencies in an introduction to qualification of the workforce of Yemen in a way making it more capable of meeting developed needs of labour markets.
