almotamar.net - The Arab League for Democracy has Monday expressed its hope that the Arab world would adopt the road of reform and peaceful democratic transfer in the way enhancing and deepening political partnership and awareness about the democratic means that would safeguard the individual and the civil society and increase their effectiveness.

Those remarks came at the end of a meeting held by the board of directors of the Arab League for Democracy at the Jordanian capital Sunday.

Secretary General of the League Al-Eryany has presented a general report on the League's activity since its establishment in Sana'a on 12 of last June and the first annual conference of the League held in Yemen in August 2007.

The participants in the meeting discussed the final drafting of the statute, the League's working plan for the next four years and the points concerning convention of its second annual conference on the democratic culture to be held in Beirut in October 2008.

The meeting issued a number of decisions and recommendations among them confirmation of Sana'a Conference decision for opening a branch bureau in Amman and strengthening the external relations of the League with international, regional and Arab organisations interested in the question of development and enhancement of democracy.
