Almotamar.net - Assistant Secretary General for the Political and External Affairs of the General People's Congress (GPC) Sultan al-Barakani on Saturday discussed with the representative of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Organisation office in Sana'a Felix Eikenberg activities and programmes the organisation is implementing in Yemen.

In the meeting Mr Eikenberg pointed out that the organisation is intending to give the subject of elections a priority in its programmes for this year especially in relation with the issue of allocating 15% for the woman that was included in the draft constitutional amendments proposed by President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

On his part al-Barakani affirmed the necessity of creating a full vision with the various political parties on the subject in cooperation with the FES and the benefit from experiments of a number of countries in this field, such as Lebanon, Jordan and Morocco.

Mr Eikenberg also informed Mr al-Barakani on activities the FES adopts in various cultural and economic areas and the programmes it intends to carry out during this year.

Sultan al-Barakani praised the level of programmes the organisation presents especially after it Sana'a has become a regional centre for the organisation, praising the role of the organisation representative Eikenberg since he has been appointed in his post.
