Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh arrived in Berlin Tuesday evening in the outset of a state visit to Germany in response to an invitation by the German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

During his stay President Saleh would hold talks with the German Chancellor Merkel and a number of German officials sealing with ways of enhancing bilateral relations and areas of cooperation at various levels in addition to delusion of regional and international issues and developments of common interest at the top of which the situations in Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon, Somalia, and the Horn of Africa region as well as the Iranian nuclear file.

Upon his arrival in Berlin President Saleh told the media," We are pleased of this visit to friendly Germany in response to the invitation by the German Chancellor Angela Merkel and it comes within the framework of continuous communication between the two countries and the steady growth the Yemeni-German relations are witnessing."

President Saleh added that during the visit he will have talks with the German President and the Chancellor on bilateral relations and areas of cooperation at political, economic, cultural and artistic levels and other fields in service of mutual interests and benefits of the two countries and peoples. He pointed out that he would also exchange viewpoints on different issues and latest developments regionally and internationally. President Saleh said Germany has an important role in supporting Yemen in its democratic and development process, whether bilaterally or within the European Union in addition to its role in pushing forward the efforts of peace in the region.
