Almotamar.net - Member of the General Committee, the Head of the Organisation Monitoring and Financial Inspection Committee of the General People�s Congress (GPC) Yahya al-Shamy said Monday the GPC organisation formations interact positively with the mechanism approved by the General Committee for selecting candidates of the GPC for the post of the capital mayor and governors of provinces in elections scheduled in Yemen on 17 May.

In a statement to Al-Mithaq newspaper Al-Shamy said variances happening at present among the GPC candidates for governors election reflect a healthy phenomenon of democracy inside the GPC.

Al-Shamy pointed out that the General Committee under chairmanship of President Ali Abdullah Saleh; Leader of the GPC will continue its meetings to reach the final approval of the names of the GPC nominees for the post of governors and mayor of the capital.

Al-Shamy expressed his hope that the GPC decisions that have been reached through large discussions would be implemented to embody the great performance of the GPC for the success of the process of governors election in the form stipulated in the law and with highest degrees of transparency.
