Almotamar.net - Acting Secretary General of the General People's Congress (GPC) Abdulrahman Al-Akwaa on Thursday chaired a meeting of the press senior cadre of the GPC organ newspapers of Al-Mithaq and Almotamar.net as well as Information Centre, where a number of issues and concerns related to the media work and the way of tackling them.

Al-Akwaa called on the press cadre to upgrade the media address and giving priority of the homeland interest to all other considerations. He considered that the GPC was and is still the party of the all the homeland and it always gives priority of he national interest to all narrow partisan interests.

He stressed the importance of intensifying the role of the GPC media in stabilization of concepts of democracy, the pluralist approach and the freedom of opinion and expression within the framework of the national constants and commitment to the constitution and the operative laws.

The Acting GPC Secretary General also talked about developments of the political issues and dialogue between political parties and the necessity of building agreements between the political forces under the umbrella of the constitution and the law.

Mr Al-Akwaa promised in the meeting the tackling of all problems that face the GPC media instruments, whether they were materialistic, or professional or with regard to technical equipment.
