The cabinet urged media to reinforce public opinion refusing such acts which clash with the Islamic teachings.

The meeting assessed a report by the Interior minister Mutahar Rashad al-Masri on the incident circumstances and steps taken to investigate it.

On September 17, the US embassy in Sana'a was rocked by a double car bomb attack. The two explosions took place outside the embassy and hit one of the gates of the heavily-fortified compound.

16 people were killed, including a US from a Yemeni origin citizen, who was named as Suzan al-Baneh.

The rest of those who were killed included troops of the police guarding the compound and civilians including Indian women.
