Almotamar Net - Al-Tahrir Square in the Capital Sanaa witnessed Thursday evening the ceremony of lighting torch of the Yemeni revolution organised by the Higher Committee for Celebrations and the Ministry of Youth and Sport. The ceremony was attended by Chief of the General Staff,  Staff General Ahmed Ali al-Ashwal , the Minister of State Mayor of the capital Abdulrahman Mohammed al-Akwaa and the Minister of Youth and Sport Hamoud Mohammed Abad.

Almotamar.net - Al-Tahrir Square in the Capital Sana'a witnessed Thursday evening the ceremony of lighting torch of the Yemeni revolution organised by the Higher Committee for Celebrations and the Ministry of Youth and Sport. The ceremony was attended by Chief of the General Staff, Staff General Ahmed Ali al-Ashwal , the Minister of State Mayor of the capital Abdulrahman Mohammed al-Akwaa and the Minister of Youth and Sport Hamoud Mohammed Abad.

General al-Ashwal said the ceremony held on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of September Revolution means commemoration and loyalty to the martyrs of the Yemeni revolution and appreciation of their role and steadfastness of the masses of the Yemeni people in defence of the revolution and the republican system.

General al-Ashwal pointed out that there are those who intend to hinder steps and work for destruction and bloodshed and to turn the wheel of history backward and that what was disclosed by the facts of the insurgents and the instigators who both meet at the point of enmity against the homeland, its revolution and unity and achievements.

He said, " While we are celebrating the 46th anniversary of September revolution and the 45th anniversary of October revolution we look forward to more spacious horizons under the unity, security, stability and progress for the homeland and the nation by virtue of the will and work for achieving accomplishments at the levels of economy, development and politics and the defensive and security building especially that we are approaching the upcoming parliamentary elections in April 2009.
