almotamar.net - Official sources said Saturday that relief planes left this morning Sana’a airport to Seyoun and Mukalla in Hadramout governorate and Ghaidha in Mahara governorate, carrying relief materials, medical supplies, tents and medicines. Among the planes a military plane carrying 16 tons of food and medical supplies to help the people affected by heavy rains that caused heavy losses in life and properties.

Preliminary information coming from operation rooms in Hadramout and Mahara governorates and Taiz indicated Friday evening that the heavy rains and torrents outpoured on those governorates caused the death or missing of 41 persons in Hadranout, five deaths in Mahara governorate and two persons died in thunder in the governorate of Taiz.

The number of houses demolished with torrents and heavy rainfall was 221 houses in addition to big material damage and losses in infrastructure projects, services and personal properties of citizens, including cars and vehicles swept by torrents and sinking of boats as well as sweeping of agricultural lands and death of livestock.

Rescue teams continue in their operations of determining the damage in preparation for reporting them to higher committee for emergency and rescue.
