Almotamar.net - The European Union has on Sunday praised the Yemeni Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum SCER's carrying out recommendations in the report of the European Union containing remarks on the electoral process and its translation in the regulations and directories of the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled on 27 April 2009.

Chairman of the SCER's information sector Abdeh al-Janadi told almotamar.net that a meeting was held at the SCER offices in Sana'a on Sunday with a European delegation to discuss comprehension of the report and procedures that have been carried out in this regard, confirming identical viewpoints on the way of completion of including the recommendations and remarks.

Al-Janadi added that the delegation understood need of some recommendations for legal amendments and expressed satisfaction over progress of the SCER in translating the report.

The delegation also expressed the conviction on SCER procedures regarding stages of the electoral process particularly registering and amending voter records , pointing out the delegation's communication with all political forces for bringing closer points of view among those parties.

Al-Janadi also said the Europeans showed annoyance concerning the attacks on field committees, demanding application of the law against those attacks and their perpetrators.
