Almotamar.net - Yemen Coast Guard troops, in cooperation with the Navy in the Gulf of Aden, succeeded Sunday in saving a Saudi oil tanker from an attack carried out by pirates on it in the high waters , 7 nautical miles offshore Al-Mukalla in the governorate of Hadramout.

The Security Information Centre of the Interior Ministry said coast guard forces received a statement by captain of the Saudi oil tanker Maamana mentioning the presence of two pirate boats near the ship and were trying to attack it.

The source added that coast guard forces responded immediately to the statement , rushed to site where the tanker was sailing and began chasing the pirates who fled the area , affirming that the coast guard forces delivered the ship before coming under any harm,

Worth mentioning is that piracy operations escalated recently and become posing a real danger o the sea navigation along the Somali coast.
