By: Jamil al-Jadabi - AMRAN- Well-informed sources said Islahi MP Hamid al-Ahmer and Sheiks of Amran governorate failed yesterday in a meeting to make a decisive decision about holding a rally for the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP)'s presidential candidate Faisal Bin Shamlan in the governorate.
Sources, which attended the meeting, unveiled that al-Ahmer failed to convince Sheikhs and social figures of Amran to prepare for and back up the JMP rally.
In a statement to almotamar.net, the sources stated the Sheikhs' reply was, "We are with Ali Abdullah Saleh."
This strong-willed reply, sources went on to say, made al-Ahmer exaggeratedly smile at his guests in an effort to escape this embarrassing situation, confessing to the gab difference between the General People's Congress (GPC)'s presidential candidate Ali Abdullah Saleh, and Faisal Bin Shamlan. "I know Ali Abdullah Saleh will win the elections, but we just want to pinch him," al-Ahmer said, according to the sources.
Al-Ahmer is promptly making efforts to gather workers of private sector in preparation for the JMP rally to be hold in Amran governorate.
In this regard, sources affirmed a fifty-car procession belonging to al-Ahmer has been designated to accompany the JMP presidential candidate and bring workers and employees to its rallies and festivals; in return they [workers and employees] receive a daily fee of 1500-2000 riyals each.
