Almotamar.net - The Governor of Mareb province, Yemen Naji bin Ali al-Zaedi said Saturday a military soldier was killed and three others wounded while they were in a military vehicle in the area of Shabwan, the district of Al-Wadi last Thursday when they were attacked by a group of outlaws affiliate of al-Qaeda organization.
Al-Zaedi clarified that the group attacked the car and the army men, killing one soldier and wounding three others and stole the car before security men managed to recover it after engagement with those elements and wounded wounded a number of them.
The Governor added that security forces were following those elements whose number is estimated at 18 persons, some of whom are taking protection inside villages in Al Nashwan area. Main elements among them are Ayedh al-Shabwani, Ali Saeed Jamil and Nasser bin Doha who are considered among the most wanted for security. The Governor confirmed also that security forces would keep their siege on those areas until the elements have surrendered themselves or to storm the areas for capturing them and sending them to justice authorities.
The Governor of Mareb on Friday held a meeting with some tribal sheikhs there who affirmed their rejection of any acts threatening security and stability of the governorate and voiced their support for the state and cooperation with security apparatuses in chasing those elements and capturing them.
