Almotamar.net - After declaration of postponement of the beginning of school year at Yemeni schools because of swine flu infections, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr Saleh Ali Basura has announced Saturday postponement of study at all Yemeni universities for one week period.

Dr Basura said the decision of postponement was taken for holding consultations with the Minister of Public Health and \population on specifying the measures for prevention of the swine flu disease by the National Supreme Committee to Encounter Pandemic during this week.

The Minister clarified that his ministry would present the prevention plan to a meeting of the National Supreme Committee and it would be carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health and Population and its offices in provinces.

In the same context the Minister of Education Dr Abdulsallam al-Jawfi had earlier stated that his ministry would participate with the Ministry of Public Health and Population in implementing an awareness preventative working programme to encounter the swine flu epidemic and any possible dangers of this disease with the beginning of the new school year.
