Almotamar.net - The National Defense Council (NDC) in Yemen on Monday held a meeting presided over by President Ali Abdullah Saleh, the Commander in Chief of the armed forces. The meeting was attended by a number of military and security commands. The NDC discussed a number of topics on its agenda and took about them a number of decisions and at the top of which are the issues pertaining to the process of construction and modernization in the armed forces.

The meeting also considered developments in the national arena and developments of the sedition events I n Saada province and the state efforts for avoiding the war that has been imposed by the elements of terrorism and rebellion that continued to refuse all the calls and efforts aimed to prevention of blood, the latest of which he six points announced by the government in an initiative for stopping the military operations. The terrorist elements also refused the call of President Ali Abdullah Saleh in Ramadan month and Eid Al-Fitr. Those elements refused to respond to the voice of reason and to resort to peace and continued in their aggression.

The NDC emphasized that there is no choice before those elements except to respond to the government initiative represented in the six points for ceasing the military operations in prevention of bloodshed and in achieving of peace.

The National Defense Council listened to report by the Minister of Defense on the military and security operations for quelling the sedition and the successes achieved by the armed forces and security and advance on different fronts of confrontation with the elements of terror and rebellion and destruction in some districts of Saada province and the district of Harf Sufyan , in addition to the high morale entertained by the fighters and their insistence on putting out the sedition ignited by those elements and to put an end to anyone threatens the homeland , the people , the revolution , the republic and the unity.

The defense Minister also pointed out to the supportive role played by the honourable citizens that represents the most brilliant image of coherence between the people and the their military and security establishments in facing up the elements of crime who are dreaming of the return of the backward imamate rule , those who have been blinded with rancor against our Yemeni people and their revolution that eliminated the roots of the imamate and colonization from our dear land and embodied the patriotic will of the people who offered for the sake of their revolution the dearest sacrifices and struggle in he battle of defending the revolution, , the republic and the Yemeni unity.

The NDC also hailed the he heroic role played by the armed forces and security and with them the honourable citizens in the confrontation with the elements of terror and destruction in some districts of Saada and Harf Sufyan and the victories in pounding positions of terror and rebellion.

The meeting of the NDC praised the convoys of people's support in addition to the national stands of the honourable activities in the society that embodied the national coherence.

The meeting also stressed what the call of the President Saleh included for realizing a large national alignment to encounter the challenges, indicating that the national duty and responsibility dictate on all to respond to this role proceeding from the President's keenness on bearing the responsibility by all in the homeland as the homeland and protecting its security and stability and its high interests is the responsibility of all.
