Almotamar Net - The official spokesman for the Yemeni government  , the minister of information Hassan al-Lawzi has on Tuesday revealed  of new administrative  and security measures taken by Yemen concerning the foreign students desiring to come to Yemen for studying , as it seems they are precautionary measure following the discovery of the presence of the Nigerian  national called  Omar Farouq Abdulmutalib in Yemen. This person carried out an abortive attempt to blast an American passenger plane, heading from Amsterdam in Holland to Detroit in the United States of America .The person has obtained a visa for studying of the Arabic language in Yemen. Almotamar.net - The official spokesman for the Yemeni government , the minister of information Hassan al-Lawzi has on Tuesday revealed of new administrative and security measures taken by Yemen concerning the foreign students desiring to come to Yemen for studying , as it seems they are precautionary measure following the discovery of the presence of the Nigerian national called Omar Farouq Abdulmutalib in Yemen. This person carried out an abortive attempt to blast an American passenger plane, heading from Amsterdam in Holland to Detroit in the United States of America .The person has obtained a visa for studying of the Arabic language in Yemen.

On thee information on this Nigerian person, the spokesman clarified that Abdulmutalib was present in Yemen in the period of 2004 to 2005 and from the beginning of August to the beginning of December 2009 after he obtained entry visa to Yemen for studying the Arabic language in one of the institutes for teaching the Arabic language in Sana�a, pointing out that Abdulmutalib had previously studied at the same institute.

Al-Lawzi has affirmed that Yemen was not aware that Abdulmutalib is affiliated to the terrorist groups and his name was not in the list of terrorists. He added on the contrary Yemen found out that his passport allows him tom visit any country, including he the United States which he visited at a previous time. He added that if Yemen had known he was affiliated to terrorist groups it would have taken the necessary measures and prevented him from leaving Yemen.

On the nature of measures taken vis-�-vis the foreign students desiring ting to study in Yemen, al-Lawzi clarified that in a press conference on Tuesday that those measures include that the one who wants to visit Yemen to offer to the Yemeni enough information with the approval of the interior ministry in Yemen embassy in his country and all information and data on his visit.

Omar Farouq Abdulmutalib, 23, who is a Muslim Nigerian youth and a son of a rich banker, was arrested last Friday in the wake of his attempt to blast an American Airbus 330 plane while it was on a trip from Amsterdam to Detroit.
