Almotamar.net - Coastguard forces in Yemen have intensified their security measures and increased their patrols along the shores of Aden Gulf, the Arabian Sea and the Red Sea. They have also intensified search measures of boats coming from Africa. These measures are being taken in response to the announcement by the Islamic Youth Group its intention to send fighters o help al-Qaeda organisation in confronting with the government forces in Yemen.

Director General of the Coast Guard, the Gulf of Aden sector confirmed to almotamar.net their intensification of coastal monitoring and increase guards along the coasts in precaution of infiltration attempts by elements from the Somali Youth Movement, accused of its affiliation of al-Qaeda organisation. The Coast Guard DG General Lutf al-Barti pointed to the capture of six Somali pirates last month and with them were weapons.

In the Red Sea sector the Director General of the Coast Guard forces Col. Abdullah al-Jalal said after the announcement of the pro-a-Qaeda Somali group on Friday, they have intensified coastal patrols and monitoring, including the use of helicopters.
